Interview with Ayodele Vassal-Gore, Entertainment Lawyer!

1. Give the readers a little background on yourself. Where did you receive your
education?

Florida State University, B.S. and University of Miami School of
Law, J.D.

2. What kind of law do you practice and what made you decide to choose this
field of law?

Entertainment, because I love music and film. I think I can make
a difference with my perspective in my field.

3. Have you worked on any cases with a major artist? If so, who?

No, not
directly. We can discuss my cases over phone if necessary.

4. What advice can you give to someone new to the music industry about the
importance of having a legal advisor assist them when it comes to negotiating
a contractual agreement?

It is imperative that you seek legal help before you
sign any paper work. If you cannot afford a lawyer, get a legal dictionary and
some trade books. (i.e., All You Need…Passman)

5. I’m an aspiring music producer, and I want to start my own production
company. What advice can you give to me, or anybody in my position about
starting of a business (LLC) the correct way?

The steps are easy, but they
should be done in the correct order (i.e., business name, tax EIN, business
address and bank account). It’s best to understand all aspects of your
business before you register with the state. Also, you should consult an
accountant.

6. Lastly, give your contact information so that readers who may be interested
in your legal practices may get in contact with you for your services.
